Limina - the space between

I use the term limina for artworks that exist somewhere between sculpture and decorative and functional ware.

My pieces are often based on the familiar forms of domestic pottery - though they are not intended to be entirely practical vessels. Some seem have gaps, be incomplete or to have been broken - this 'damage' clearly evident in repairs that are an intentional part of the piece.

In this way, Limina pieces question many of the norms frequently applied to ceramics.
