Weaves 

 

These ceramics mostly take forms normally associated with functional domestic wares only to subvert their purpose by the use of woven construction (like a vase that will not hold fluid). As such, they are closely related to those found under the heading Limina. More or less loosely woven they are constructed from defined and frequently textured strips of clay.

 

Woven plate - heavily textured interwoven strip plate with variagated matt glaze sinish 185mm diameter.

Large basket - interwoven with round-section coil strips with matt glaze finish 240mm diameter

Square woven plate - interwoven flat-strip plate with fractured edge and variagated matt glaze finish 190 x 190mm

Lattice weaves - skeleton construction 'vases' and bowl form with variagated matt glaze finish. Bowl 180mm diameter, Square tower 'vase' 200mm x 60x60mm, Round tower 'vase' 55mm diameter x 225mm

'Nest' - semi-woven with round-section coil strips, matt glaze finish 170mm diameter (max) x 70mm high

Small woven bowl - interwoven flat-strip bowl with variagated matt glaze finish 140mm diameter

Large woven bowl - interwoven flat-strip bowl with variagated matt glaze finish 230mm diameter
